Arthrography

This examination takes place before an MRI or CT scan. It consists of injecting contrast product into a joint, most frequently in the shoulder, more rarely in the knee, hip, elbow, or ankle.

This examination allows to see the state of the joint, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.

It is advisable after the examination not to have strenuous physical activity, but you can go about your usual activities.

Allow between 1h and 1h15 in total depending on the joint to be examined

Known allergy to contrast media. Please let us know if you have any reactions when eating seafood.

This examination does not require any special preparation.

Our medical staff will accompany you throughout your stay in our center.
You will be placed on an x-ray table and the injection site is identified by the radiologist who will carefully disinfect the skin before injecting the contrast medium into the joint – the injected product will be eliminated by your body the same day. After the injection of the contract medium, you will then be taken to the MRI or scanner for further imaging.
